In November 2019 I had the pleasure of travelling to Namibia. This was my first time in the country and my second time in Southern Africa. On reflection on my entire visit I can honestly say I had the most amazing experience during my two and a half week visit, and cannot wait to go back for an extended period. Not only were the locals very warm and hospitable, Namibia has a booming tourist industry which offers and unlimited number of activities for both long and short stays. Locals are also quite knowledgeable about the best places to visit, while hotels and lodges offer tours and vehicles to make the experience less tedious.
On my last Friday in Namibia I took a day trip the Walvis Bay, the home of Dune 7, the tallest Dune in the heart of the Namibian desert. Climbing to the top of the summit of Dune 7 was one of the most exhilarating experiences ever, and goes down in the history books as one of the best experiences of 2019.
Below are some pictures of the excursion.
Dune 7 is the highest dune in Namibia. The dune has been measured at over 1,256 feet (383 meters) and is named Dune 7 because it is the seventh dune one encounters after crossing the river Tsauchab.
