The Giraffe Center is a nature sanctuary located in Lang'ata, approximately 20 kilometres from the centre of Nairobi, Kenya. It was established in 1979 by Jock Leslie Melvilleto protect the endangered giraffe found only in the grasslands of East Africa. Since its establishment the Giraffe Centre has become a popular wildlife attraction for tourists and urban school children. The Giraffe Center is also home to several warthogs.
My sister Wokie and I had the pleasure of visiting the Centre during our last holiday in Nairobi and it was an amazing experience. The giraffe is such a graceful, majestic creature and, it felt good to spend time with them in their natural habitat.
