In July 2018, my sister Wokie and I had the pleasure of visiting Italy and exploring the Italian Riviera. Over a seven day period, we visited several cities, the first of which was the picturesque fishing village of Portofino, southeast of Genoa city.
The beautiful village features miles of deep blue beaches, pastel-coloured hillside houses, high-end boutiques and seafood restaurants. It also includes a 16th-century fortress and museum with art exhibitions and panoramic views of the town and the Ligurian Sea. The marina was lined with hundred of yachts, small boats and families enjoying the sunshine.
However, my favourite feature of the Italian Rivera is the food. Never in my life have I had such delicious fresh seafood pasta and wine, which reminded me of why Italy remains my favourite counties in Europe.
