Murano is a series of islands linked by bridges in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy. It located about 1.5 kilometres (less than an hour by fery) north of mainland Venice and has a population of just over 5,000 people. Murano is quite is famous for its glass making industry and is home to some of the most well renowned glass makers in the world. Unlike Burano with its colourful building and crowded streets, Murano is characterised by classic Venetian architecture and quaint designs.
