Visit Ghana: Elmina Castle, Cape Coast

Kakum National Park is located in the Central Region of Ghana, about three hours outside Accra. The area is covered with tropical rainforest and includes several endangered species such as the Diana monkey, the giant bongo antelope, the yellow-backed duiker and the African elephant. The park boasts of a bird inventory of about 266 species and is very rich in butterflies. The most notable feature of the park is the canopy walkway, which is 350 metres (1,150 ft) long and connects seven tree tops which provides access to the forest. If like me you are scared of heights, I would definitely recommend challenging yourself to at least one of the canopy walkaways, the feeling you victory you get afterwards is just priceless…
