Aunty Beyonce and Aunty Rihanna are both making history in the September 2018 issue of Vogue magazine; Beyonce in American Vogue, and Rihanna in British Vogue.
Not only is this the first time that a black person is featured the September issue of Vogue Magazine, which is considered the most important issue of the year, in Beyonce's case, this is the first time a black person is shooting the cover of Vogue.
More ironically, or is it coincidentally, they are both serving flower bomb in the editorial, which is bound to create controversy given the similarities.
However, while Rihanna serves us editorial couture, while Beyonce is serving high fashion glamour.
I hope both covers usher a new era of Vogue where all minorities, especially African creatives, are respected and included in mainstream fashion magazines, editorials and art.
